Physical Therapy services may be needed after a hospital stay, a fall, or simply due to loss of function from normal aging. Our Physical Therapists work to help you get through the rehabilitation process and back on track. Physical therapy services may include balance exercises, stretching and light muscle movement to help improve health and prevent future injury. Our Physical Therapists have programs to help decrease pain and stimulate healing, improve function and mobility, instruct you for further ongoing health and fitness recommendations and assess environmental issues for safety to help enhance your independence.
Occupational Therapy assists individuals of all ages perform daily activities. Our main goal is to allow you to remain independent in your home. Our Occupational Therapists can assist with tasks like cooking, dressing and other things you may have done prior to an injury or illness. Occupational Therapists also help with the use of assistive devices (e.g., walkers, wheelchairs or other devices). Our Occupational Therapists will perform evaluations, teach exercise programs to increase joint motion, strength, and flexibility, instruct about joint protection and personal energy conservation and make recommendations to increase home safety.
Speech Therapy may be needed as a result of trauma, stroke, or other medical conditions. Our Speech Therapists can help you regain and/or increase your ability to communicate, assist you with problems of quiet or slower speech, slurring, and swallowing and can help you improve your verbal articulation by helping you develop better movement of the lips, tongue, and jaw.
Home Health Aide services consist of a variety of hands-on services that can help you with bathing, washing hair, shaving, dressing, mobility and assisting with range-of-motion exercises In addition to light housekeeping.
Medical Social Workers will counsel you about the emotional concerns caused by your illness and help with longer range planning. They will help coordinate services, medical and non-medical, discuss eligibility for other assistance programs, explain medical bills and give a general description of community resources as they apply to your situation.
